Conduct & Discipline

Discipline is the backbone of every development. This is especially true of an educational institution. This discipline is formative, not repressive and helps the student to develop self control, which is the essence of a well-ordered and successful life. Therefore, the school expects of its students to conform to certain regulations aimed at the growth of the entire school, and more so, of the individual student.

  • Every student must carry the school diary with her/him everyday.
  • All students must speak English in the School.
  • The warning bell before class is a signal for all students to go to their respective class rooms silently.
  • All pupils are expected to be present for the assembly.
  • The Attendance is taken at the beginning of the two sessions of the working day – before the first period and the sixth period.
  • Students are required to leave the classroom during the recess.
  • No child is permitted to leave the school premises without the permission granted by the Principal. Such a permission can be granted only at the specific written request of the parents/guardians.
  • Any pupil desiring to be exempted from P.T. or games must produce a doctor’s certificate to the effect that she/he is physically unfit to take part in them.
  • Students will not be called to answer phone calls during class hours. To call home, they should use the telephone at the office counter. This can be done by getting a written permission from the office and a payment of nominal charges.
  • All letters and correspondence addressed to students are subject to scrutiny by the Principal.
  • Students should be habitually clean and neatly dressed. The school uniform is to be worn on all school days. A student who is slovenly dressed may not be permitted to enter the classroom or may even be sent home.
  • Students must show respect to the members of the staff. They should stand up and greet them when they enter their class as well as when they leave the classroom and even whenever they meet them in the corridor/outside school premises.
  • Students are required to show gentleness and courtesy to their companions. Refined behaviour should be a distinct feature of every student of this school.
  • Running, playing, shouting and whistling inside the school building is not permitted.
  • Proper care should be taken of the school property and no pupil should scratch or spoil desks or chairs or damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the wall or in any way damage things belonging to others. Damage done even by accident should be reported at once to the class teacher or the Principal. Anyone who sees something damaged should report the matter to the Principal even if she/he does not know who has done it.
  • No pupil should bring razor blades, any sharp edged instruments or potential weapon to school.
  • The Principal has the right to confiscate books, newspapers, periodicals, cell phones, pagers, radio phones, ipods, personal stereos, CD’s cassettes, cosmetics and any other objectionable item from the pupil.
  • The school is not responsible for articles or money lost. Students must not bring valuables (like expensive and fancy watches, pens, etc.) to school. No student is permitted to wear jewellery of any kind in the school campus. Pupils below class V should not wear wrist watches in the school. Students must take care of their belongings. The school shall not be held responsible in the event of loss of or damage to any such articles.
  • Money should not be lent or borrowed, nor should articles be exchanged, bought or sold among the students.
  • No collection of money for any purpose whatsoever is to be made and no meeting, demonstration, party or picnic be held without the prior permission of the Principal. This rule is also applicable to parties organised privately and/or outside school for selection, promotion, change of section, shuffling of class or leaving school or nomination to any post or award or any other similar reason. Under the same rule any excursion, outing, visit, including visit to a cinema, in a group cannot be made without the permission of the Principal.
  • Gifts to the members of the staff or any gathering in their honour also requires the prior sanction of the Principal.
  • Students are not permitted to attend the parties, watch movies or go to friends or relatives’ houses on their way to school or back home from school.
  • The Principal has the right to suspend or to the withdrawal of any pupil without having to state any reason that such a step is necessary in the interest of the school.
  • Cycles must be locked and kept only at the cycle stand. No vehicle should be driven in the school campus. While entering or leaving the school gate, one must walk instead of riding. Students of the school are strictly prohibited to ride scooters and motor cycles or drive jeeps, cars, vans etc. to school.
  • Students who come to school escorted by servants/drivers or guards should never leave before the authorised person arrives. Delay of any kind should be reported to the school office.
  • Those who go home on their own should reach home straight without loitering about on the way.
  • Students are warned not to buy anything, especially eatables, from street vendors. The school canteen supplies the required eatables.
  • The students should behave in a refined manner wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should always greet their teachers, elders and friends in a pleasant and audible tone of voice whenever they meet them in school or outside.
